Welcome back to Nowcasting, your hub for all things Rainmaker. Today we’ll give you an update on our research operations in Alaska and introduce you to some of Rainmaker’s newest additions to the team.

Rainmaker strives to keep our drones in the sky 24/7 so we can constantly learn and advance our technology and research. We’ve recently headed north to Alaska, where Rainmakers are conducting R&D in the ideal conditions that only an Alaskan summer provides. Earlier this month, we had drones in the sky for a continuous 24 hour operation. This is a huge milestone. More time in the air means more data we can bring to our cloud seeding work in the lower 48, and ultimately means more water for our clients. Fortunately, we’ve managed to keep our bear encounters to a minimum.

Joe Johnson has committed his career to the outdoor industry, coming to us after 10+ years leading Salomon’s alpine marketing in North America after stints in resort marketing with Alta Ski Area, Canyons Resort and Solitude Mountain Resort. When he’s not cooking up new and exciting partnerships here at Rainmaker, you can find Joe testing out Rainmaker’s product wherever the snow is falling.
